Research and development
In the last years, thanks to a willingness and active cooperation with important glass factories, to test new kind of cast iron on their plants, we have developed innovative alloys that significantly improve the quality of the final product (glass), the expected life of the mold and a better management of maintenance with consequent efficiencies in the production chain.
Types of cast irons for the glass sector
Lamellar graphite cast iron
The principal feature of Lamellar Cast Iron is thermal conductivity, and it’s clearly mainly used for high-speed glass production. The Lamellar cast iron is one of the most used as kind of cast irons for which we’re able to offer a wide range of different tested chemical compositions.
Spheroidal graphite cast iron
Mainly used for pharmaceuticals and perfumery, the graphitic structure of this cast iron is very compact and polishable in the “glass contact” area, with high glass brilliance results.
In recent years, the cooling efficiency of new glassworks system plants has required an increase in using this cast iron on “Food and Beverage” products too.
Vermicular graphite cast iron
This cast iron is a compromise between the two main families above mentioned, combining a good thermal conductivity with excellent “glass contact” features and results. For us, it represents the material with the greatest potential for performances’ development.

Our model shop is equipped with the most high technologies for the construction of the models, and high-tech Cad-Cam and versatile CNC systems. The process guarantees an high dimensional quality and homogeneity in the machining allowances of the cavity as well as of the mold surface.
Laboratory for Glass Sector
The laboratory is well-equipped with all the tools needed for process controls and final tests.
Further to supply the actual market with more than 20 different kind of cast iron positively tested, our team works constantly in research and development to improve the material performances and provide cast irons which meet the increasing stress requirements demanded by the customers.
